PSI Polska receives order from PERN „Przyjaźń” SA

Planning and metering of pumping and storage processes of crude oil products with PSIcarlos

Berlin, Poznan, 20 May 2015 – PSI Polska Sp. z o.o. has been contracted by the Przedsiębiorstwo Eksploatacji Rurociągów Naftowych "Przyjaźń" SA with the implementation of the PSIcarlos system. The system will support the planning and metering of pipeline transports and storage processes of crude oil as well as petroleum products and chemicals in the near future.

PERN "Przyjaźń" is a leading pipeline operator in the Polish oil logistics market. The Friendship (“Drushba”) pipeline transports Russian oil to the largest refineries in Poland and Eastern Germany. A second Polish pipeline is transporting oil delivered by tankers from the marine terminal in Gdańsk. Detailed planning ensures the continuity of supply which is vital for the Polish and German energy supply.

The system, which has a built-in optimising engine, is a tool that supports the planning of pipelines as well as tank storage and the lightening of tankers at the marine terminal in Gdańsk. The functions include customer nomination (requisition) handling, planning for transports and storage, reducing the risk of contamination, pump optimisation, reporting and metering for accounting. Improved planning will ensure reduction of pumping costs. The system is based on PSIcarlos which has been the chosen software solution of German pipeline, tank farm and marine terminal operators for a long time.

The project, which is scheduled to last 24 months, will be implemented under the PERN investment plan "Development, Information and Environment".

PSI Polska Sp. z o.o., located in Poznań, is a subsidiary of the PSI AG group. The company serves as the implementation centre for Polish customers and also develops software products for the entire PSI group.

On the basis of its own software products, PSI AG develops and integrates complete solutions for energy management (gas, oil, electricity, heat, energy trading), production management (mining, metals, automotive, mechanical engineering, logistics) and infrastructure management for transport and safety. PSI was founded in 1969 and employs 1,700 persons worldwide.
