PSI Logistics as an excellent “Innovation Leader” at the 17th LogiMAT

Extended functions in warehouse management and planning and optimization systems

Berlin, 31 January 2019 – At the LogiMAT in Stuttgart (Hall 8, Stand D78), for the first time, PSI Logistics GmbH will present from 19. - 21. February 2019 extended functions in the warehouse management system PSIwms and the supply chain planning and optimization system PSIglobal. In addition, current projects involving Artificial Intelligence (AI) will be presented in the software systems.

The focus of the current releases lies on yard and dock management with time window control and slot management as well as the harmonization of heterogeneous data formats from different sources. The two modularly planned products from the PSI Logistics Suite are designed as standards for further cross-system integration and networking with the ERP level in the IT infrastructure. Visitors of the LogiMAT can obtain additional information about current developments in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES). In addition, examples for the holistic optimization of production processes will be shown.

"With the approaches of an integrated IT infrastructure, PSI Logistics is intensifying its developments in software solutions with open system architecture, which are increasingly demanded on the market. For warehouse management, ERP systems usually only consist of basic functions”, explains Dr. Giovanni Prestifilippo. “However, they are not enough to enable an efficient material flow in demanding logistics processes."

The seamless and intelligent coupling of ERP and WMS systems supports the development in the context of Industry 4.0. By harmonizing the heterogeneous data formats from different sources, PSIglobal can increase the options for analyzing a holistic database.

Based on its own software products, the PSI Group develops and integrates complete solutions for optimizing the flow of energy and materials for utilities (energy networks, energy trading, public transport) and industry (mining, metals production, automotive, mechanical engineering, logistics). PSI was founded in 1969 and employs more than 1,900 persons worldwide.
